Almost ready.

Hello Bloggers, Yes, it's been a long time since I've posted anything on my blog. Sorry! But the good news is that my 3rd book is at the printers. I'm hoping to have it for Christmas BUT there are a few things that have to happen before it goes to print. Right now the Cover is being a problem. Does that mean the Cover has a life of it's own? Well yes. It seems that everything to do with a work of fiction has a life of it's own. How crazy is that? I'm not sure but that's just the way it is. When the book is ready I'll let you know. Christmas is just a few days away, 20 days to Christmas eve. I'm excited to be going to spend a few days with my son and family. My grandson has been painting and he has a special painting for me which I'm so excited to see. I have a special place on my wall to hang it. Then my granddaughter will be dancing in the Nut Cracker, she will be the Snow Queen. I'm going to have a wonderful time catching up with them. I pray we all remember this holiday is really about the birth of the Christ child. We honor him by loving our family and friends. Merry Christmas to you all.

It's a great day here in Cheney. The sun is shinning! Yes, I've been telling everyone that I finished writing my latest novel, A Hat to Die for. It's being edited and I understand the editor is vicious with her red pen. I'll probably be crying when I get it back. In the mean time I've been coloring. Yes, coloring in color books. Ever since I can remember I've loved to color. I've colored many children's coloring books but the pictures were always big and I used coloring crayons. Recently I've seen adult coloring books in almost every store I've walked into. When I say adult I don't mean that in a naughty way. With these coloring books I use colored pencils. it's a lot of fun and it's relaxing but I find it addicting. Since the pictures are very intricate it takes hours to complete a single picture. Once I get started I it's really hard to stop. So if you want something fun to do in your spare time get yourself a coloring book and let me know so we can color together.

Good evening bloggers, We had a beautiful day here in the pacific northwest. I went to see Bridge of Spies today. It's about the efforts to get spy plane pilot Gary Powers home by a prisoner exchange with Russia. It was based on true facts. It was a little slow in some places and to prove it I fell asleep in the middle. You see the theater put in new reclining seats and it was just too cozy and by that time my bag of popcorn was gone. Tom Hanks stared in the movie and that is reason enough to see it. The cost of a ticket to the movie is understandable but the cost of a bag of popcorn is unbelievable but what's a movie without popcorn. Nothing new here I just wanted to update my blog so you bloggers will know I haven't passes away and gone to that big Blog Post in the sky.

Wireless mouse

I'm so excited because I now have a wireless mouse for my new lap top. I was so frustrated with the touch pad. I was always touching it, yes touching it when I didn't mean to and things would happen that I didn't want to happen. It is so cute, there is this little thing that I plugged into the port on the side of the computer and suddenly the little pointer is moving around by using this new mouse.
You can tell it doesn't take much to excite me for much to frustrate me.
Thursday is always a busy day with bible study at 12:30 p.m. so it takes up the better part of the day. The best part is I don't have to get up early. I can sit around sipping coffee and telling Jake to take it easy we will take our walk when I'm finished. Sorry I haven't been blogging lately but life seems to get in the way and I do other things. I just wanted you all to know how excited to have my little mouse friend. Life is good.

Graduation time is here.

I am so blessed and so proud. When those precious little ones come into your life you never know what life will bring to them. I'm a great-grandmother, the only problem is they all live far away but I get to see their pictures on Face Book every day. When these little ones are born we just know they are going to achieve great things. Nothing is impossible in America.
My grandson Dan drove all night from Utah to give his presentation for his Masters Degree at Eastern Washington University. He was pretty nervous about it but when it was over he received good comments from the committee that interviewed him. I was happy to be able to spend a few hours with him. He will be driving back to Utah where his 2 girls and his wife are anxiously waiting another baby girl to be delivered any minute.
I'll be driving to Oregon next month to watch my grandson, Matthew graduate from high school and I'll spend some time with the family celebrating as this young man heads out there to make his mark in the world.
My granddaughter, Jenny has 3 boys, the youngest Jesse is graduating from high school. In the middle is Daniel. Daniel is graduating from the University of La Vern in California, with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics. From the same University, the oldest Nicholas will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology.
Grandchildren come into our lives to love and brag about while their parents do all the hard work. I just feel so proud and so blessed to have children that have done such a great job so I can beam with pride. So please humor me when I start telling you of all the wonderful things MY kids are doing because they are the most beautiful and handsome and smartest and talented people on the planet.

Good Books and Birthdays

Good morning on this gray, rainy day. The sun is shinning in me, however, since I had a wonderful weekend at the Christian Writers Conference in Spokane Valley. Then yesterday afternoon I spent celebrating my great-granddaughters 10th birthday.
When I was a child I always got one wonderful gift from my parents and a card in the mail containing one dollar from my grandparents. Of course a party with my school friends, they all would bring a small gift probably costing less than one dollar. It was always a wonderful time, of course Mom always baked me a cake from scratch.
My G-granddaughter's party looked like Christmas, all in pink. I did give her a birthday card with a few dollars in it, after all a girl needs a little money in her pocket just in case she had her heart set on something that we failed to bestow on her. Since this was her third party, I volunteered to bring the cake. When I moved into my retirement apartment I gave all my baking pans to Good Will. Safeway makes the best cakes anyway and decorates them just the way you want. The girl had so many gifts she couldn't see over the top of them and I must confess I helped in the abundance. The nice thing was that she seemed to love each item and thanked everyone. I keep saying that's the reason we have children, so we can have grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friday and Saturday before the birthday party I attended the Christian Writers Conference. What a blessing, my mind is still so full I hope it doesn't explode. James L. Rupart was the key-note speaker, he really pumped us up. He writes fiction on Spiritual Warfare a favorite subject of mine. Brandilyn Collins, love her books, was there and I was able to purchase 2 of her books that I hadn't read. If you dear reader are looking for a new book I highly recommend these authors.
The calendar says spring is here, it seems it always brings a little rain with it. Rainey days are great for reading a good book. If you, dear are engrossed in anything exciting let me know. I'm always looking for a good read especially if it's a mystery.

A miserable night.

It's a cold windy night and rain is pouring down. Huge dark clouds cover the sky so there are no stars or moon to light our path. I took my dog out for his evening walk. He pointed his nose into the wind then turned to me with a forlorn look in his eye. He was not happy to be out on this miserable night. "Okay," I told him as we walked back to our apartment. "That's enough for tonight, let's go inside and get warm." The wind caused the lamp post to sway a little and shadows followed us as we walked along the path. Jake seemed nervous and I kept looking over my shoulder. Finally back inside our cozy apartment we settled down and I laughed at myself. Maybe I've read too many mysteries made up in the minds of my Sisters in Crime or maybe I watched the news on the television, it is more hideous than anything I could possibly dream up.
